About our founder

The Crime & Correction Newsletter was created by Tiant "Professor Mitch" Mitchell as a way to explore solutions to crime and violent behavior, and improve the systems designed to correct it. His research into criminal behavior and correction began after his own lifetime of crime culminating in a 60 year sentence for inexcusable violent crimes nearly 12 years ago. After a long criminal history, Professor Mitch struggled to make sense of his own behavior and the reality he found himself in time and time again. Without access to the internet and desperate to understand himself and those around him, Professor Mitch hit the books. The research took years. Through rigorous research and intensive collaborations with psychological professionals and professors, he was empowered to transform his own life and inspired to develop a comprehensive body of resources and materials aimed at understanding and preventing crime and violence. The Crime & Correction Newsletter helps share all that has been learned with anyone truly interested in crime & correction.

Tiant "Professor Mitch" Mitchell is an Inspirational Educator, Prolific Author, Entrepreneur, Proud Father, and Mental Health Advocate. He is the author of many notable books and the founder of several organizations and programs including: the Felons-R-Fathers2: Parenting Outreach Program, The R.A.T.E.S. Initiative, the Correctional Solutions Institute and Freedom Consultation Group, LLC.

Mr. Mitchell is currently a board Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS), peer facilitator and educator in a Pennsylvania State Prison. He is the host of his own podcasts: Sentenced2Succes, Parent2Parent Solutions, The Manic Muse with Professor Mitch and the creator of the CRIME & CORRECTION Newsletter.
