This book focuses on the discrimination of Ohna, the orange, when she is transfered to an all vegetable school. Ohna, not only fights to overcome her own inner battles, but fights to be heard and accepted for her merits instead of being rejected for her genetic make up. 8 Year old Tialynn Mitchell and her father Tiant R. Mitchell whose has been incarcerated since before her first birthday, wants to help others end discrimination, in spite of her circumstances. Although Tiant has been incarcerated since Tia was just a few months old, he inspired her to write her book after sending her a copy of the book he published about fatherhood from prison which included a picture of the two of them embracing for the last time in the free world.
